Transatlantic Intelligencer is the website of the journalist and specialist in European politics John Rosenthal.
Transatlantic Intelligencer, or “Trans-Int” for short, began life as a blog back in October 2004, with the purpose of, as I put it, “overcoming the language gap – or, more exactly, some of the language gaps – preventing Americans and other English-speakers from forming an accurate assessment of European political realities.” The original blogspot blog is available here. For a time, in 2005-2006, Trans-Int became a multidimensional news site, including translated contributions from other authors and a Trans-Int Review for longer, analytical pieces. In 2007-2008, the site became largely idle as I was editing a program of international news translations that I created for the news site World Politics Review. As a contributing editor, I also contributed numerous “Trans-Int-like” articles and news briefs to World Politics Review, as well as writing a “Transatlantic Intelligencer” column. For my contributions to World Politics Review, see here.
Today, I do my writing and reporting almost entirely for other venues, though still much in the spirit of the original Trans-Int. I continue to use the site to link to my contributions elsewhere. Readers who would like to be notified by e-mail when new articles appear may sign-up for the Trans-Int newsletter using the sign-up box in the right side-bar.
Many thanks, as always, for your interest.
